Lucie Rivard is a self-taught artist residing in Ontario, Canada with her husband and son. Her childhood has been immersed in the passion for art, with her mother and grandmother as oil painters and wood carvers. As a child Lucie was very drawn to expressing herself while experimenting with many types of medium. Her favorite mediums are colored pencil and acrylic. She says the many layers of colored pencil create dimension in her illustrations and acrylic offers vibrant colors in her paintings.
Lucie has commissioned fine art and children’s portraiture as well as having her artwork featured on the cover of two magazines. Currently, Lucie is working with the Ontario Association of Junior Educators along with authors Les Asselstine and Rod Peturson to create the Essentially Science and Technology 20-book series.
Lucie has also made a contribution to Bridging Heaven and Earth’s International Healing Art Project. This project has brought much global attention and awareness as many artists from around the world have made contributions with the intention of spreading the vibration of love. "City Crow Magazine:
October 2004 issue" - 8 x 10 Acrylic on Canvas Panel. This
piece shows the vibrant colors achieved with acrylic and was
appropriate to create the vivid autumn colors for this issue.
"Roses"
- 16 x 20 Acrylic on Canvas. This piece shows contrast
of light and dark as well as the realism of the water droplets with
the use of gloss.
"Mallard" - 5 x 7 Colored Pencil on Colored Paper. The colored
pencil and texture of the paper contributed to the look I wanted to
achieve with the feathers.
