Monica Georg

Monica
was born in Munich, Germany. As a child she liked to play in her
own world. Monica enjoyed to drift away in her own fantasies.
She would draw whenever she had the chance. Just to give her
fantasies some reality even if it was just on paper.
Monica's parents were actors so she had the artist in her veins.
As a teenager she started acting just to see if she would like
it enough. It was good, but not fulfilling. She returned drawing
and painting again when she found what she wanted.
Beginning of her early 20's she moved over to England and
visited the art college in Birmingham. Monica came back to
Germany a few years later and worked as a graphic-designer for
Media and TV production companies where she was responsible for
graphics shown on TV shows and commercials. She really enjoyed
doing this as she could eventually use her creativity in the
job. But it wasn't the REAL thing.
Monica always wanted to do children's book illustrations. This
is where she can really let her fantasies flow.
When she paints or draws, she can completely switch off her
brain and just drift away as she uses her pencil. Getting lost
in her pictures
is what keeps her going.
Some of Monica's work is on her website. She tries to keep her
website up to date, but she finds it a challenge at times.
