GAPH 2: The Reader is a well written novel.  It's characters are very colorful and very believable.  The plot of the story is very real and down to earth.  Easy to understand and hard not to love.  The characters and their struggle to be accepted and respected is so very real.  I like the fact that the homosexuals in this story weren't anywhere near what we see on TV.  In the novel their shown as normal men and women, not twisting and popping or over butch acting.  This story gave me inspiration to continue to live my life and accept and love myself for who and what I am. - T. Smith

I wish there were more scenes between characters in this book; there were a few times I felt I wanted to know more.  The anticipation builds well, the end is a bit surprissing event hough not unpredictable.  I liked that the death of the characters which left like main characters was what really set the whole point aflame; at the end it was because of tehose deaths I felt affected and touched. - A. Anisimova
