Twisted Mysteries
Wound around the spikes
Spike in my head,
Cracked and seeping light.
Peer through the keyhole
Deep in my soul.
Frozen,
Lonely and cold.
Shaking with fury?
Or furry lost memories?
Hazy fog spills through,
Concealing truth
That was once known.
Read the open book,
Dismembering my myth.
Crying at the scales tipped.
Spoiled and broken.
I have spoken.
Ridiculed, yet nude.
Atrophied from living,
Death is my sweet embrace.
Comfortably coiled in my corner.
Lying awake,
Crying and screaming, “I’m normal!”
Alien eyes see clearly.
My losses are infinite.
Twisted mysteries
Wind about my head,
Feeding on me.
Pulling me slowly into
Comfortable numbness.

Twisted Mysteries is a poetic look at time, insanity, rage, and
normalcy. The poetry that makes up Twisted Mysteries breaks
open the world of the twisted and analyzes some of the hidden
subjects underlying everyman.
Every person has ideas or feelings that they don't talk about or act
on for the fear of being labeled. These poems explore the
darker side of the psyche, the shadow-world, where control is
assumed through power, death, and insanity.
The whole book cloaks profound statements (mostly) in the dark
threads of poetic symbolism. Enjoy reading the poems, but take
the time and see if you can look through the veil. Analyze the
mysteries of life, you may find something new; you may find some
things you already knew.
Twisted Mysteries is the second book by K. Troy available from Creative House Press.
