Hajera Blagg

Proof Reader

Hajera Blagg was born in Mexico on August 21, 1987. The very next day, Madonna’s “Who’s That Girl?” became a number one single, which she does not consider a mere coincidence.  Hajera grew up in south Texas and lived in Russia long enough to acquire a brooding, melancholy soul but not long enough to hate snow and subzero temperatures. She is a recent graduate of Rice University, where she studied English and learned to unicycle. Her favorite punctuation mark is the em dash—it allows the writer the freedom to shift tone, and above all, she considers herself a tone shifter. Her hobbies include playing golf, performing magic tricks that impress only five-year-olds, and writing short fiction. She draws inspiration from her loving family and her parrot, Gorrion, the only pet that has not died within five months of being under her auspices. She aspires to one day be a world-famous fortune cookie writer.
