PHOTO JOURNAL SHOWS A PIECE OF AUSTIN’S SOUTH CONGRESS
AUSTIN, TX –
The attitude and quirky fun of the South Congress district in
Austin, Texas, has been delightfully captured in a new photo journal
by Steven
M. Hamilton.
This once
impoverished area has
now become one of
the city’s trendy
sections.
Down on
South Congress has over 50
pictures in
stark black and
white and in vibrant
color.
Alan Bourgeois, owner of
Creative House International Press, Inc., discovered this new talent
on South Congress Avenue last year as he was peddling his
picture note cards.
Bourgeois, having been inspired by the unusual quality and variety
of Hamilton’s work, was pleased that the photojournalist agreed to
the creation of this tabletop book.
Prima Dona’s at 1912 S. Congress will be hosting a book
release party on March 11, 2010
from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
Mr.
Hamilton will be available
to autograph copies
of his first book.
Creative House Press
has put down its roots into the local Austin scene and, although
Down on
South Congress is the first book
the company has
published by a local
author, it clearly will not
be their last.
The publishing house
currently has 13 books in various stages of publication scheduled
for 2010, ranging from children’s tales to general fiction.
